Acupuncture is an ancient practice of medicine originally from the East Asian philosophies. Although a single word, this term references a complex medical model employing different techniques including moxibustion, gua sha, cupping, traditional herbal medicine, tui na, and acupuncture needling.
The original Daoist practitioners, rooted in naturalist observations, modeled their care of the human body as a reflection of these processes. This traditional East Asian medical theory explains these disharmonies (or diseases) as an imbalance of opposing forces known as Yin and Yang. Any imbalance disrupts the natural flow of the body’s vital energy (Qi) along the meridian channels and pathways through which the qi is meant to flow.
Today acupuncture is identified specifically as the insertion and manipulating of hair- thin sterile needles at specific points. Through this the East Asian practitioner is able to return the body to its natural state and thus promote an innate cascade of physiological mechanisms to promote healing.

Traditional massage therapy is identified as the manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body through different techniques involving compression, effleurage, cross fiber friction, tapotement, and kneading. Various tools are used by the practitioner including their own hands, forearms, knees and feet.
Dr. JoHannah Macbeth employs over 8 years of clinical experience both nationally and internationally by integrating her certifications in myofascial release, traditional Thai massage, orthopedic techniques, pre and post natal care, sports massage, oncology, palliative, and pediatric care to offer a unique, thorough, creative, and educational treatment for each client.

Reflexology is a system and holistic understanding of the theory of applied microsystems, or smaller parts of the body reflecting the body as a whole. This science identifies the principle that there are reflex areas or zones in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and organ systems of the body. With over 200,00 nerve endings, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles, and 26 bones each foot can truly be considered a biomechanical marvel. By stimulating these reflex points a type of preventative and therapeutic healing begins. Reflexology is a serious advance in the health field and should not be confused with massage.

Aromatherapy is the artful healing practice that stimulates olfaction through the use of aromatic materials including essential oils and other aromatic compounds.
